Some press coverage and culture talk
We got a little bit of press coverage. I’m terrible at speaking off the cuff and worry I sound like a complete doofus, but something is better than nothing. Thanks to Jordan Fenster for reaching out. You can read his CT Insider article here: https://www.ctinsider.com/news/article/CT-s-man-s-quest-for-lab-grown-meat-17322784.php
Anyway, let’s round things out with Culture Talk, where I discuss some of the stuff I’ve been watching and reading about lately.
Movie: Everything Everywhere All at Once. I’ve only seen Michelle Yeoh in a few things — like Tomorrow Never Dies and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I didn’t know she was so funny. This is an absolutely bonkers ride through the multiverse, including one bizarre reality where everyone has hot dogs for fingers. It’s the best film I’ve seen in a while.
Movie: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. This flick is growing on me. Way back when, I thought Harrison Ford was too old and the tone was too silly. But I’ve come around and decided I quite like an aging Jones surviving a nuclear blast in a refrigerator. I always enjoyed Shia LaBeouf’s portrayal of his greaser son, which I guess puts me in the minority.
Sports: Knicks in talks about trading for Donovan Mitchell. I hope we can get the Jazz star, but I also don’t want New York to give up everything to make it happen. It sounds like both teams believe they have some degree of leverage over the situation and negotiations are currently at a stalemate. We’ll see what happens!
