Security guard called the cops on me again
I’ve been feeling burned out, but protests against Israel’s war on Gaza inspired me to get back out there. Today I picketed the state Democratic Party headquarters in Hartford, calling on politicians to support increased public funding for cultivated-meat research.
I would picket the Republican Party headquarters as well, but it might be a little too far away. Perhaps I could go this summer, when there is less of a time crunch to get back. Unfortunately, the United States Department of Agriculture office might also be too far away.
In terms of the security guard, it went basically the same as last time. The guy told me to leave. I said it was a public sidewalk. He called the cops. The police came. They talked to him. They talked to me. They watched me for a while, ultimately said I was fine, and left.
Anyway, if you’re an activist who engages in a nonviolent protest of your elected officials in support of cellular agriculture, email a photo and text description to JonHoch87@aol.com. You may be featured on Slaughter-Free America.
Also, if you’re interested in calling or emailing the Connecticut Democratic Party and and politely urging them to support increased public funding for cultivated-meat research, here is their email and phone number:
