Primary prep, the Strokes, and the Knicks
I’m going to send out a letter to the editor, just to my Connecticut list, making the case progressives should start thinking about a primary challenge to Richard Blumenthal in 2028. It’s never too early! Ideally, the letter would be seen by grassroots activists, prospective candidates, and Blumenthal’s office.
Anyway, let’s do (Cell) Culture Talk. Here are some of the things I’ve been listening to and watching lately.
Music — Angles by The Strokes. I think the band’s first two albums were pretty close to perfect and they’ve never managed to reach those heights since. Still, this record has its charms. “Taken for a Fool” is super catchy.
Sports — Knicks lose to Cavs, 95-89. Julius Randle had a different summer regimen than he usually does, as he was rehabbing from ankle surgery. I don’t know if that’s impacting him, but he’s really struggled in these first few games. Hopefully, he can get on track.
