How to create an email list for a congressional office
In case anyone wants to email the staff of their senators or representative in support of cellular-agriculture development, I want to explain how I’ve done it, as these addresses generally aren’t public.
First, you need to find the email of one person in the office. Generally, the press secretary’s address is public as they’re dealing with the media. Sometimes they include their email in press releases.
With that email, you’re going to figure out the format for how addresses are assigned in the office. It’s probably something like this: firstname_lastname@senatorname.senate.gov.
Next, you have to find a copy of the office payroll on a website like Legistorm.com. Obviously, choose the most up to date information. From there, you put all the listed names into the email format you have.
It’s tedious, but you should end up with a pretty good email list for the office. There appears to be quite a lot of turnover in these places, so many of your messages will bounce back. But they should provide you with an address for their replacement.
